Growing up within a day’s drive of New Orleans, Louisiana, solidified the city as one of my favorite places on Earth. I’ve been several times, but it’s never enough to see it all.
New Orleans is known for its party-central location, centered on Bourbon Street in area known as the French Quarter. Just blocks from Jackson Square and the Mississippi River, Bourbon Street is lined with bars, walk-up gumbo shops, and *ahem* adult-only entertainment clubs.
Visiting during New Orleans during Mardi Gras is a test of ones stamina, willpower, and liver capacity. Nightly (and for a few days, daily) parties creep into the next morning when you stumble home to your hotel. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll find a great hotel just steps from your party on Bourbon Street.
